F. Faye Nia, a family law attorney at the law offices of Nachshin & Langlois who was named a “Rising Star” by Superlawyers in July, 2006, enjoys various aspects of her busy caseload including client relations, strategic planning and problem solving. She welcomes the challenges inherent in dealing with the delicate aspects associated with divorce and child custody cases, and works hard to achieve optimal results for her clients.

Though proficient in all aspects of family law, Nia is particularly adept at handling marital dissolution cases that involve complex community property disputes and also matters that involve complicated child custody issues. With a real estate broker’s license Nia finds her understanding of property rights and real property issues an asset during mediation sessions and when participating in settlement conferences and court trials.

Born in The Hague (Netherlands), Faye Nia, has been a member of the United States Supreme Court since 2003. She graduated third in her class from of the University of La Verne’s College of Law. While attending school, she was a member of the University of La Verne Law Review, the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, and the Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society. Among her many accomplishments as a student, Faye Nia was named a member of the Dean’s list and was a published author of the school‘s Law Review for the Journal of Juvenile Law. She also was named a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for achievement in family law.

In addition to being a member of the State Bar of California, Ms. Nia is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and the Trial Lawyers Association of America. Her membership with the Washington D.C. Bar is currently pending.

Ms. Nia enjoys her work with many civic activities as well, such as serving as a volunteer for the Domestic Violence Clinic in Superior Court. She also has volunteered her time for APLA Legal Clinic (Aids Project Los Angeles) and enjoys other philanthropic activities including organizing fundraising events for worthy causes. She has experience in grant writing for non-profits organizations and often lends those talents to those in need. The multi-faceted family law attorney is fluent in Farsi and conversant in French.
